How a first version gets made
  1. 01
    The wish list

Everything the product could do, written down. Most founders arrive with a list like this, and that's fine.

  2. 02
    The one job

We cross out everything the first users can live without, until only what they'd use every week is left.

  3. 03
    Build only that

A fixed price for that scope. You see it working every week while it's built.

  4. 04
    Real users

It goes to the people who have the problem. What they use decides what comes back from the list.

Nothing built yet

You already do it by hand.

Every week you solve the same problem with a spreadsheet, WhatsApp or both, for yourself or for clients who pay you for it. You can tell it should be software. You don't know where to start without spending months on it.

You've seen the quotes.

Big numbers, hourly rates with no end in sight, or a list of features nobody will use in the first month. You want a first version that does one job well, and a fixed price for it.

01

A first version that does one job

We start by writing down the one thing it has to do and who uses it on day one. We build only that, put it in front of real users, and add the rest once they're using it. A fixed price for that first version, agreed before we start.

Software for how you operate

Internal tools, client portals and the systems behind a services business. We start by learning how the work happens today, ship the core module first and add the rest once people are actually using it.

Built with AI agents, reviewed by people

Most of our code is written with AI agents now. A different model reviews it, a developer approves it, and only then does it ship. If you want to make changes yourself, we set you up the same way: your own branch, guardrails that keep you out of production, and a way to ask us for help without booking a call.

Group bookings

Every group at the right cinema

A company that organises cinema outings for after-school care groups across Australia. We rebuilt its bookings platform from a no-code front end to code. After the first full holiday season on it, the operations lead wrote that it was one of the first holidays where no group turned up at the wrong cinema.

Show-jumping data, moved off no-code

A data platform for show jumping: horse profiles, results and performance charts, with filters and watchlists. We moved the front end from no-code to code, then set the owner up to change it himself with AI, on his own branch.

A task board with more than a million records that still loads and searches without lag.

The list loads as you scroll, the queries the team runs most are cached, search runs on indexed fields, and changes show up for everyone in real time. For a tool people open all day, speed decides whether they use it, so we scope it next to the features.

A bookings platform rebuilt from scratch, and a holiday season with no group at the wrong cinema.

We rewrote a group-outings platform from a no-code front end to code. The rule before launch was that nothing should feel different to the people using it. After the first full season, the person who runs operations wrote to say it was one of the first holidays where no group had turned up at the wrong cinema.

02

A warehouse inventory engine replaced while orders kept shipping.

The new engine calculated everything in the shadow first, writing nothing. Then we compared two or three SKUs against the old system every day, let only those write for real, and moved the rest once they matched.

Type: Warehouse systemMethod: Shadow run, then cutoverDowntime: None

Quoted as written.

I just wanted to say how BIG OF A SUCCESS the platform has been these holidays! … Honestly i think this is one of the first holidays EVER where no groups have turned up at the wrong cinema, or had an incorrect session time etc… Just a massive thank you to [Gonzalo] and the team for all of your hard work
Operations lead · Group bookings company, Australia
They helped us migrate a complex automation flow from Make.com to Xano, integrating with REA.com.au and Domain.com.au. They built a clean, scalable backend that now powers our real estate enquiry responder system.
Dominik · Australia
Buildora Labs delivers solid & professional work on technical projects, and helped us in thinking about and implementing needed automations and workflows for our internal company tools. … the flexibility in their expertise was really key to make things work.
Kevin · Los Angeles, California
Having worked with about 5 different freelancers last year I can honestly say that Buildora Labs' studio were the best! … As a client that develops and codes myself as well I can tell that their developers have superb knowledge of both Weweb and Xano.

01

The one job comes first.

Before any code, we agree on one page what the first version does, who uses it on day one and what it leaves out for now. That page is what the fixed price is for.

02

You see it working every week.

Demos you can click through, and when the project is big, a five-minute video of where everything stands instead of a long report.

03

We write down where launch ends.

On one project every small request after launch turned into a negotiation, so we added a line to the agreement: the service is up and running within 72 hours, and changes after that are quoted separately. Those conversations mostly stopped.

04

Real users before more features.

The first version goes to the people who have the problem as soon as it does its one job. What they do with it decides what we build next, not the original wish list.

05

Everything ends up in your name.

Repositories, hosting and accounts move to you. When a project winds down, you keep running it, with us or without us.

Gonzalo Rodríguez

In 2021 I joined a startup in Melbourne as its first employee. It built an AI assistant that answered tenants for property managers, and by the time it was acquired in 2024 it was serving about 415,000 users. That's where I learned what a product has to do at 11pm, when there's nobody around to fix it.

Before that I spent eight years in a family business, fixing things with software because something needed fixing, and three years on a marketplace of my own that never made money. That one taught me the most: what a user asks for is almost never what they need.

I started Buildora in 2024. We work with developers from Argentina to Taiwan, and the first call is with me.

Gonzalo RodríguezFounder, Buildora Labs LinkedIn

We don't bill hours. A first version, a build or a migration has a fixed price for a defined result, agreed before we start. After launch, a monthly plan covers a set number of updates per quarter, a review of the changes you make yourself, and hosting. If you need more, each extra update is priced before we touch it.

We share numbers on the call, once we know what you need.

I don't have anything built yet. Is that too early for you?

No. Volantazo, one of our own products, went from a spreadsheet to an app people use in days. If it's too early to build, we'll tell you on the call and suggest the cheapest way to test the idea first.

You use AI to write code. Who checks it?

A different model reviews what the first one wrote, and a developer reviews both before anything ships.

Who owns the code?

You do. Repositories, hosting and third-party accounts are in your name from the start or move there before we finish.

How do you charge?

Never by the hour. A fixed price for each result we agree on, and after launch a monthly plan with a set number of updates. If there's existing code we haven't seen, a short fixed-price review comes first so the quote means something.

What happens after launch?

We agree in writing where launch ends. After that you can keep a monthly plan with a set number of updates, or we set you up to make changes yourself.

What happens on the first call?

Fifteen minutes. You tell us the problem, who has it and how you solve it today. We tell you honestly whether we're the right people for it, and whether it's time to build.

Fifteen minutes on a call. If it's too early to build, we'll say so and tell you the cheapest way to test it.
